Our beloved friend and brother, Robert Stewart Douglas passed away on Sunday September 21, 2008 in a diving accident at Sea Ranch in Mendocino County.

He is survived by his longtime love, Colleen Finnerty, his son, Aidan Douglas, his mother Beth Douglas, his sisters Bonnie Van Natta and Jayme Douglas, and brother, Ian Douglas.

Rob was integral to so many of us that the shock of this loss runs through us like a current. There are dozens of us who counted Rob as one of our very best friends and depended on him for so many things, which he gave without question -- a testament to his deep sense of humanity, warmth, loyalty, and generosity. Rob united us in his lust for life, his blistering sense of humor, and his rejection of all things inauthentic or pretentious. He's the one you call in an emergency at 3 am, the guy you want in your foxhole.

Such a devoted friend, boyfriend, father, son, brother, libertine, bon vivant, and Elk, warrants a send off representative of the life he lived without compromise: celebrating deep fellowship, love, and revelry. Join us to share stories, jokes, laughter, a few tears (and a few beers).
